SHAKE
Date shake is a creamy and delicious beverage made with dates, milk, and sometimes ice cream or yogurt. Here's a simple recipe to make a refreshing date shake:
Ingredients:
- 6-8 pitted dates, chopped
- 1 cup milk (you can use dairy or plant-based milk)
- 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream or Greek yogurt (optional, for added creaminess)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of ground cinnamon (optional)
- Ice cubes (optional, for a colder shake)
- Whipped cream (optional, for garnish)
- Ground cinnamon or chopped nuts (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Place the chopped dates in a bowl and cover them with warm water. Let them soak for about 15-20 minutes to soften.
2. After soaking, drain the dates and discard the soaking water.
3. In a blender, combine the soaked dates, milk, vanilla ice cream or Greek yogurt (if using), vanilla extract, and a pinch of ground cinnamon.
4. If you prefer a colder shake, you can add a handful of ice cubes to the blender as well.
5. Blend the ingredients on high speed until smooth and creamy. If the shake is too thick, you can add more milk to reach your desired consistency.
6. Taste the date shake and adjust the sweetness by adding more dates if needed.
7. Once the shake is smooth and creamy, pour it into glasses.
8. If desired, top each glass with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with ground cinnamon or chopped nuts for garnish.
9. Serve the date shake immediately, and enjoy its sweet and creamy flavor!
You can also customize your date shake by adding other ingredients such as bananas, almonds, or a dash of honey for extra sweetness. Experiment with different variations to find your favorite combination.
