Here's a simple and delicious recipe for Keema Chawal (minced meat with rice), a popular South Asian dish:

Ingredients for Keema (Minced Meat):

- 500 grams minced meat (beef, lamb, or chicken)
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
- Cooking oil or ghee

Ingredients for Rice:

- 1 cup basmati rice, washed and soaked for 30 minutes
- Water for cooking rice
- Salt to taste
- Whole spices (optional): bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods

Instructions:

1. Heat oil or ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

2. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

3. Add ginger-garlic paste and chopped green chilies. Sauté for a few minutes until the raw aroma disappears.

4. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.

5. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Mix well and cook the masala until oil separates from the sides.

6. Add the minced meat to the masala and mix well. Cook on medium heat until the meat is cooked through and the masala is well blended with the meat. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

7. Meanwhile, prepare the rice. In a separate pot, bring water to a boil. Add salt and whole spices (if using). Drain the soaked rice and add it to the boiling water. Cook the rice until it is 70-80% done. Drain any excess water.

8. Layer the partially cooked rice over the cooked keema (minced meat) in the pan. Cover with a tight-fitting lid and cook on low heat for about 10-15 minutes or until the rice is fully cooked and fluffy.

9. Once the rice is cooked, gently fluff it with a fork and mix it with the keema from the bottom layer.

10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with raita (yogurt dip), salad, and papad.

Enjoy your flavorful Keema Chawal! Adjust the spice levels according to your preference.
